About our brands
Linda McCartney's
An original food pioneer, Linda McCartney believed in great tasting, honest, meat free food and the shared pleasure that eating well could bring.
Those involved in the brand today, including the McCartney family, are dedicated to sharing Linda’s passion for wholesome cooking with everyone. We are inspired daily by Linda’s enthusiasm for celebrating life through good food. And so our unique range never compromises on taste or quality and is made with care and compassion.
“HOW WE’RE DOING OUR BIT”
Linda McCartney embraced kindness and compassion in everything she did and this continues to run through what we do today. We take our social responsibility seriously and we’re on a mission to be good to the planet in every way we can, from ingredients to packaging, and everything in between.
When Linda McCartney started Linda McCartney Foods almost 30 years ago, vegetarianism wasn’t the mainstream movement it is today, and we’re proud to have paved the way for meat-free eating, pioneering change for what goes onto our plates today. We’re still passionate about vegetarianism and know we’re often the first step for people on their meat-free journey, whether simply swapping one meal, or choosing to go meat-free for life. We clearly label our vegan products 100% vegan and all our vegetarian products are Vegetarian Society approved.
Warburtons
A Family Bakery, baking bread since 1876.
Thomas Warburton and his wife Ellen first opened their grocery shop in 1870, but it wasn’t until 1876 during a slump in the grocery market when Ellen Warburton started baking bread. Ellen’s first batch of four loaves of bread and six cakes sold out in under an hour. Within two weeks, the tiny shop in Bolton was renamed ‘Warburtons the Bakers’ and continued to go from strength-to-strength ever since. All those years on and Warburtons is now the largest bakery business in the country but still remains a private family-owned business, actively managed by the fifth generation, Jonathan, Ross and Brett.
We are a fifth-generation family business, but our concept of family extends beyond those with the surname Warburton – the way we see it, our family has nearly 5,000 members, and we all work together to create our success. From our bakers to our delivery drivers, everyone that works within our 11 bakeries and 18 depots across the country helps us to be the successful business we are today.
Families are at the heart of our family business and all our products are developed and produced with the family as our inspiration. The products we make provide families with easily accessible, high quality products which form a core part of a healthy balanced diet.
We believe we have a role to play in giving back to our communities and supporting those that need it the most. Our Families Matter community programme aims to support families across the UK, to improve their lives.
We also pride ourselves on our long standing and close relationships with our family of suppliers, customers and farmers.

We produce award winning bacon, ham, and sausages from our farm reared stock and Red Tractor sourced UK Pork. Our farm reared pork is fed with Wheat and Barley grown and milled on the farm.
Our processing is based at Wicks Manor on the family farm and we produce for high-profile customers across the world. Products include scotch eggs, pulled pork, sliced ham, traditionally smoked dry cured bacons, and our range of English premium pork sausages.
We farm in an ethical manner with all farm manure going to fertilise the next year’s crops, our solar panels capture the suns energy to power our processing plant, wastewater is used to irrigate crops, crop residues becomes the bedding material for growing pigs, and our products have no added hormones or antibiotics - guaranteed.
The farm has been run for three generations by the Howie family and we have the fourth generation in training! From planting the seeds in the fields to our products being ready for sale takes 18 months of hard work. The Power of Frozen
Frozen food is good news for customers and for the planet. Freezing is nature’s pause button - an entirely natural process that allows us to capture food in its peak condition as soon as it is picked, caught or made.
Frozen fish really is fresher than “fresh” fish that has either spent days making its way to the supermarket or, more typically, has been frozen at sea and then defrosted for sale as “fresh” at a premium price. Rapid freezing produces a vastly superior result to anything consumers can achieve by freezing fresh products at home, hence the much longer shelf life it can offer (Source: Frozen food facts)
